The Indy Dance Academys Performance and Competition Company (IDAC) offers the dedicated dancer the opportunity to discover their own potential, experience the camaraderie of a team and further their training through dance conventions, competitions and performances.
Our philosophy is that students who receive proper technical training can use the opportunity to perform in public appearances to help improve their future performance and technical skill level and dedication. IDAC takes pride in keeping our costumes, music choices and choreography age-appropriate within each level of our company.
Our Company dancers learn the proper techniques, stage presence and tricks to compete favorably with other national competition teams. Under the direction of Amy Western, the IDAC has been recognized for their choreography, technical skill, and overall entertainment quality on both regional and national levels.
Current and former dancers have gone on to dance on High School and College Dance and Cheer Teams, performed professionally with show companies all over the United States as well as, on National Broadway tours. Most recently, many of our student performers have been awarded scholarships to Chicago Dance Connection, Tremaine Dance, Kids Artistic Revue -Kids in New York City.

These classes are for current and new members of the Indy Dance Academy Company. Dancers will study technique in the disciplines including: ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance. Development and exploration of other styles such as musical theatre, lyrical, funk, and improvisation will be studied. Dancers will also focus on stretch, strengthening, improving their technique, tricks and artistic expression.
