Julie Russel, – Instructor

Julie Russel, raised in Cedar Michigan, grew up training at Dance Arts Academy under the direction of Betsy Carr. Julie graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2019 with a BFA in Dance Performance and BA in Environmental Sustainability. While at OU, Julie had the pleasure to perform works by Merce Cunningham, Alejandro Cerrudo, Sonia Dawkins, David Hochoy, Trey McIntyre, and Amy Hall Garner.

Upon graduation Julie began dancing with Verb Ballets. During her two seasons with the contemporary ballet company, she performed works by Stephanie Martinez, Christopher Huggins, and Tommi-Waheed Eveans. She also taught various dance styles (ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, lyrical, contemporary) throughout the Northeast Ohio area. Julie continued her professional career with Wonderbound where she performed works by Garrett Ammon and Sarah Tallman. Julie is excited to be dancing with Dance Kaleidoscope for the upcoming year and teaching at Indy Dance Academy!
